Former Attorney General Pam Bondi came to Capitol Hill on Friday for a recorded interview with House lawmakers regarding the release of investigation files about the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Bondi, who is 60 years old, did not answer any questions from reporters as she entered the House Oversight Committee’s hearing room for her questioning.
She had a white bandage on her neck, which seemed to be connected to a recent diagnosis of thyroid cancer.
Harmeet Dhillon, an assistant attorney general who leads the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, will act as Bondi’s personal lawyer during the interview.
“This case hasn’t been fully looked into,” said Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), highlighting his committee’s efforts to gather documents from Epstein’s estate and the Department of Justice, as well as securing several interviews with former associates of the sex offender.
“What documents are still out there?
Why haven’t they been handed over?” he asked. “I want every document. I don’t want anything kept secret.”
“The government has let down the survivors,” Comer continued, noting that “some names” were recently mentioned by former Epstein assistant Sarah Kellen as possibly being involved in the financier’s crimes.
