Donald and Melania Trump faced a very cold welcome at the Kennedy Center on Tuesday night. As they arrived for the premiere of the Broadway show *Chicago*, loud boos filled the air.
A video shows the couple receiving mostly jeers and very little applause — a big contrast to the support Trump often seeks.
This was their first time appearing together in public since Melania’s documentary, which was widely criticized earlier this year.
It’s no surprise that many people who regularly visit the Kennedy Center weren’t happy to see Trump.
Last year, he had pushed to add his name to the center’s board, which led to a lot of musicians and performers walking away from the venue.
That experience made him angry, and he decided to close the famous venue for a two-year renovation — longer than needed — starting in July.
Even at *Les Misérables*, one of his favorite shows, Trump was booed and cheered.
Now it seems like this is just the same pattern, and it’s not hard to see why. After all, he’d probably rather watch a UFC match than enjoy a classic musical.
