Survivors of the missile attack that killed six Americans say Pete Hegseth is lying — it wasn’t just a lucky shot, they were completely unprepared to protect themselves because of Trump’s bad leadership.
CBS News reports that the people who survived the attack on a U.S. base in Kuwait — where six Americans died and 20 others were hurt — are challenging Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth’s story.
Hegseth claimed the missile was a “squirter” that somehow slipped through their defenses.
The survivors say the truth is that they weren’t ready to defend themselves at all.
One injured soldier told CBS, “Painting a picture that ‘one squeaked through’ is a lie.”
He added, “I want people to know the unit … was unprepared to provide any defense for itself. It wasn’t a fortified position.”
In a Twitter post, Secretary of Defense Sean Parnell said, “Every possible measure has been taken to safeguard our troops — at every level,” and that “the secure facility was fortified with 6-foot walls.”
But the survivors said, “We moved closer to Iran, to a deeply unsafe area that was a known target.
I don’t think there was a good reason ever articulated.”
CBS reports that the soldier said they were protected by little more than a thin layer of vertical standing blast barricades that didn’t offer cover from above.
He said, “From a bunker standpoint, that’s about as weak as one gets.” When asked about the level of fortification, he replied, “I mean, I would put it in the none category. From a drone defense capability … none.”
It’s clear now that Trump and Hegseth rushed into this war without proper planning, seriously underestimated Iran’s ability to respond, and put thousands of Americans in danger because of it.
Now six Americans are dead because of Trump and Hegseth’s arrogance and incompetence — and they’re lying to us about it.
