Philadelphia’s tough District Attorney, Larry Krasner, appeared at the airport today and gave a clear, straightforward message to federal ICE agents. He was responding to Trump’s plan to send more agents to airports for mass arrests and “security.”
Krasner was serious: “This is how it works.
If you commit crimes in the city and county of Philadelphia, I will prosecute you. No, I won’t take a call from the president to let you go. No, the president can’t pardon you. I’ll say it again—no president can pardon you.”
He continued, “And yes, I’ll put you in handcuffs, take you to court, and if needed, put you in a jail cell.
” “If you think about doing anything illegal here, like what happened in Minneapolis where unarmed people were killed, we won’t tolerate that.”
He warned, “To any agent who might consider doing something illegal, I’ll see you in court, and you won’t like it.”
This strong message is a stand against Trump’s plan to turn airports into places for deportations and use ICE without any checks.
Krasner is making it clear: federal agents aren’t above the law in Philadelphia, and Trump’s power to pardon ends at city borders.
If Krasner’s strong warning to ICE agents gives you hope that someone is finally standing up for fair and reasonable law and order.
