HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a surprising statement about President Donald Trump’s knowledge of the world and his artistic skills during his appearance at CPAC on Saturday.
While speaking with Mercedes Schlapp at the annual conservative event in Dallas, Kennedy shared a story meant to highlight what he described as Trump’s “encyclopedic, molecular knowledge” of various topics.
He said, “One time during the campaign, I was on the airplane with him.
We were sitting across from each other, eating McDonald’s and drinking Diet Coke. Then we started talking about Syria. He got a placemat and turned it upside down. He used a Sharpie to draw a perfect map of the Middle East. Then he wrote down the military strength of every country along each border. It really challenged a lot of the things I had heard about him. He has this deep knowledge about what’s happening in each agency.”
The story received applause at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center but sparked a lot of doubt from many progressive people on social media.
This story was just one part of Kennedy’s effort to praise Trump on Saturday.
He said he has completely changed his view of Trump.
“President Trump is exactly the opposite of everything I used to think about him,” Kennedy said during his conversation with Mercedes Schlapp.
“I used to believe he was a loud, self-centered person who didn’t read much and wasn’t well-informed. But now I know the opposite. He’s not a narcissist, he’s an empath.”
