Every day that Trump is in charge brings a new embarrassment on the world stage because he acts like international matters are just a daytime TV show.
In his Easter speech last night, Trump openly mocked the French president and suggested that Macron is beaten by his wife, probably because Macron didn’t help Trump out of his own messed-up situation in the Hormuz area.
He said: “Then I called France, Macron, whose wife treats him very badly, still recovering from a jaw injury.
And I said, Emmanuel, we need help in the Gulf, even though we’re breaking records and taking down bad guys and missiles. We’d love some help if you could. Could you send ships right away? No, no, no. Cannot do that. No, no, we can. We can do that.”
But when Macron was asked about these rude comments this morning, he stayed calm and didn’t respond in the same way, because he is a real leader who takes his role seriously.
He said, “We are talking about war, people dying, and economies suffering.
What I heard is not serious and doesn’t deserve a response. A world leader can’t speak like that. We are talking about the effects of this war on our economies… The comments I heard aren’t polite or fit for a leader. So I’m not going to answer them. It doesn’t deserve a reply.”
It’s really shameful to see another world leader have to deal with childish insults about his wife from our president, all because Trump won’t take responsibility for the mess he made with his reckless and dangerous choices.
Trump doesn’t like Macron because he can’t be pushed around and because Macron has dignity and presence that Trump never had.
Trump’s lack of confidence is especially clear when he’s dealing with a true statesman, because he knows deep down that he’s just a reality show host who shouldn’t be in such a position.
He hates himself for that, but he makes the rest of us suffer because of it.
