Washington didn’t just have a hearing today — it had a big moment of reckoning.
As former special counsel Jack Smith spoke before the House Judiciary Committee, the real action happened behind him.
There, retired D.C. police officer Michael Fanone faced off with Ivan Raiklin, a MAGA supporter who proudly calls himself Trump’s “secretary of retribution.”
What happened next was intense, angry, and unforgettable.
Raiklin, smirking at his own camera, tried to shake Fanone’s hand.
Fanone, who almost died protecting the Capitol on January 6, clearly knew who his enemies were. He said, “Go f— yourself. You’re a traitor to this country.”
Raiklin complained about “professionalism.”
Fanone wasn’t buying it.
“You threatened my family.
You threatened my wife,” Fanone said, as another January 6 hero, Harry Dunn, tried to hold him back. Then came the line that stopped everyone: Raiklin had threatened Fanone’s kids — including making rape threats. Capitol Police stepped in as Raiklin kept posing for the camera, saying he was “totally dominating” the moment.
Dominating?
Please.
Fanone is someone who fought for democracy.
Raiklin is a professional troublemaker who lives for intimidation and drama. One stood up on January 6. The other just watched from the sidelines.
As House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan hit his gavel, Rep. Jamie Raskin said what everyone was thinking — calling Raiklin a “deranged observer” and thanking Fanone as the room cheered.
This wasn’t a breakdown.
It was moral courage meeting MAGA badness.
And if this is how Raiklin acts in a hearing, imagine what he was cheering during the Capitol attack.
