A few days ago, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado handed her Nobel Prize to Trump in a desperate and short-sighted move to try and win back his favor after he reportedly said she should have given the award to him instead.
But it seems the Nobel Prize Committee isn’t going to let Trump keep his fake prize.
On Twitter this morning, they released a statement making it clear that the Nobel Prize cannot be given away.
The statement says, “One of the core missions of the Nobel Foundation is to protect the honor of the Nobel Prizes and how they are managed.
The Foundation follows Alfred Nobel’s wishes and the rules he set.”
It also says the prizes are only given to people who have “conferred the greatest benefit to humankind,” and that only certain people have the authority to give out each prize.
So, a prize can’t even be given away, not even as a symbol.
This is sure to make Trump even more angry, because he really wants a Nobel Peace Prize — especially since President Obama already has one.
Now, every time he sees “his” medal, the voice of failure will remind him that Obama is still better than him, that he didn’t really win the prize, and how pathetic it is that he tried to force his way into getting one in the first place.
His so-called victory is turning into nothing before his eyes — may the same happen to everything else he tries to achieve.
