Speaking at a campaign rally in Georgia, Ossoff gave a powerful speech that reminded people of the struggles they’ve faced.
“We still have power.
Remember when the administration froze all the money for after school programs? You can’t make this stuff up.”
“You remember that?
They changed their mind under pressure. They also froze funding for scholarships at HBCUs, right? They backed off under pressure. And every week that goes by, they become less popular, while our ability to speak up for the people and push back grows stronger.”
“I talked about the danger of giving up hope when I first came here.
Here’s another way to look at it. Don’t believe the lie that you have no power. Do you hear me? They want you to feel powerless. They want you to think everything is lost.”
“They want you to believe that as citizens, speaking out doesn’t matter because they’ll just do what they want, and that’s not true.”
“They also want you to think that organizing a huge, historic turnout in this election won’t work.
Why did they send the nation’s spy chief, Tulsi Gabbard, to hide in an FBI truck in Fulton County, Georgia?”
“But let me tell you, it’s going to come back to haunt them.
Because our response will be strong and unstoppable.”
HEAR, HEAR!
Senator Ossoff is completely right, and we have shown it time and again. Because the American people haven’t given up, and we never will.
We protested in millions against Trump and in defense of our democracy.
When he sent troops into LA and DC and Chicago, we came out in large numbers and made our voices heard, even though we faced beatings, tear gas, and rubber bullets.
When he sent his ICE agents to Minneapolis for an anti-immigrant hunt, we again came out, and we faced beatings, arrests, tear gas, and even real bullets.
We put our lives on the line to protect our communities—and we won.
No matter what he does, we will resist, and we will win.
He only wins when there’s no hope, which is why he started his term by spreading fear, hatred, and violence. But we stood up and weathered the storm, and now he’s on the defensive, with low approval ratings and a public that’s ready and willing to fight back.
