Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said, “Spanish military bases will not be used for anything that is not agreed upon with the United States and the United Nations Charter.”
After this statement, fifteen American planes had to leave the bases in Rota and Morón, Spain — which was a big diplomatic problem for the struggling Trump administration.
Albares also wrote on X, “We want respect for international law.
Violence only causes more problems. Talking and calming things down are the ways to achieve peace and stability.”
According to the United Nations Charter, a country can only use military force against another nation if it has been approved by the Security Council or if it’s in self-defense.
The Pentagon has already said the Trump administration’s claim that the attacks were planned to stop Iran from attacking was wrong.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also hurt the MAGA message by saying that Israel was planning to attack Iran, so the U.S. joined in out of fear that Iran would retaliate against Israel and then target the U.S.
In other words, Rubio admitted the U.S. was forced into a war by an ally — which shows the war isn’t about protecting American lives.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez criticized the attacks on Iran, which had already hit a girls’ school and killed at least 165 people, calling them “unjustified” and “dangerous military action.”
This is a strong example for the world.
Stand up to Trump, end this unnecessary war, and save innocent lives.
