Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth got upset with a reporter during a Pentagon press briefing on Wednesday after being asked about possible violations of a two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.
When asked about Iran continuing to attack with missiles on Wednesday, even though they had agreed to a temporary ceasefire, Hegseth said he still thought the ceasefire would last.
A reporter then called out a question about the alleged Iranian attacks.
“He’s still firing ballistic missiles!”
the reporter shouted.
“Excuse me, why are you so rude?”
Hegseth replied sharply. “Just wait, I’m calling on people.”
A few moments later, Hegseth muttered under his breath, “nasty.”
The Associated Press reported that Iran launched attacks on Israel and countries in the Persian Gulf after the ceasefire agreement.
Israel also admitted to carrying out strikes on Lebanon after the deal, which Al Jazeera called “the largest coordinated strike” since early March, a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
