The Secretary of War Crimes tried to argue for Trump’s illegal war in Iran by sharing a video of a Marine showing off his tough attitude with a “few-the-proud-built-Ford-tough” kind of pride, making a big deal about being ready for combat.
In the video, the Marine says, “Everyone wants my opinion on what’s happening in the country right now.
I’m not going to give it to you. What I will tell you is, if you’re a Marine or any service member in the United States of America, your only job and mission is to be combat ready. You understand?”
He goes on, “And if the balloon goes up, you and me and every buddy else, we’re getting on a plane, we’re getting on a ship, and we’re going forward.
And you know what? You’re gonna leave everything you have here stateside behind. That includes your feelings about everything. Don’t forget it. Star Major, out!”
This video can only be seen as an effort by Hegseth to boost morale by reminding troops of their duty, which now seems to involve risking their lives for Trump and Israel in a war with no real reason.
But there’s a big issue with this video.
It was from 2021, and the Marine in it, Sgt. Maj. Christian Bull, was fired and disgraced for breaking into the home of one of his fellow Marines.
That’s not exactly the kind of example Hegseth was going for!
It’s not a good sign that the Secretary of Defense is sharing these kinds of videos as thousands of US troops are being sent to the Middle East, and the president is openly talking about sending troops to Iran, calling it an “excursion” that will likely end in disaster.
Too many Americans have already been lost, and too much money has been wasted.
It’s time to bring some sense to this and get our troops home before turning a mess into a deadly disaster.
