Brian McGinnis, a former Marine running as a Green Party candidate, wrote on X: “And for the record, I’ve been running long before this, and yes, even after breaking my arm standing up for what I believe in. It’s only made me more determined. Anger is real, and so is resolve. Take care.”
Many people might have given up after the scary event that happened in a Senate room earlier this week.
Senator Sheehy, along with Capitol Police officers, tried to take McGinnis out of the room because he was protesting against Trump’s illegal war in Iran. During the struggle, McGinnis’s arm got stuck between the door and the wall and got crushed. He was taken to the hospital and now is facing charges for “assaulting” a police officer.
In the video, McGinnis shouted, “America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel!”
One person said, “His hand, his hand!
Oh! His hand.”
Another said, “The senator broke his hand.
The senator broke his hand. A sitting U.S. senator just broke the hand of a Marine. Control your Senate!”
Someone else yelled, “You’re a coward.
You’re a coward. Go f*ck yourself. Go f*ck yourself,” at Sheehy.
No matter what people think about McGinnis’s candidacy for the Green Party, his strong anti-war actions deserve recognition.
He served in Iraq and knows firsthand the terrible cost of unnecessary wars in the Middle East. Every American should be shouting at the top of their voice for Trump to stop this war before it gets worse. Americans are already coming home in coffins. Enough is enough.
