The White House spokesperson said to a group on Real America’s Voice that Donald Trump is the most well-read person in any room and “doesn’t miss a story.” However, someone who knows better says they never saw a book on Trump’s desk or in his home.
Leavitt said, “Donald Trump is always [the most well-read],” and added, “That man does not miss a story.
He’s always reading the papers and watching TV.”
We can believe the part about the TV.
But when it comes to reading, the facts show a very different picture.
Tony Schwartz, who wrote *The Art of the Deal* and spent 18 months following Trump, said he never saw a book on Trump’s desk, in his office, or in his apartment.
Schwartz said he “seriously doubted” Trump had ever read a whole book in his adult life.
In a 1980s interview, Trump praised Tom Wolfe but couldn’t remember the title of the book he said he was reading.
Former aides have said Trump refuses to read anything longer than bullet points or charts. One person wrote, “Trump won’t read anything—not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers, nothing.”
Then there was the famous interview with religious broadcasters, who asked Trump whether he preferred the Old or New Testament of the Bible.
Trump stammered, “Er, both.” When asked about his favorite verse, he said, “I’d rather not say, it’s personal.”
If Trump is such a big reader, we suggest he read up on the reports that his war is becoming a mess and getting worse.
The situation is turning chaotic and can’t be fixed easily. There’s also economic trouble, broken alliances, and oil shortages that are going to get even worse.
If Karoline Leavitt’s claim that Trump “doesn’t miss a story” is so far from the truth, then please like and share to show how ridiculous her false statement is.
