In a heated conversation with Bill Maher, Pennsylvania’s governor challenged Trump to explain “what the hell we were doing here.” Was it to destroy nukes that Trump said were already gone? Was it regime change—and if so, who would take over? Or was it forced by Netanyahu? “Remember they said that?”
Shapiro said, “We have a commander in chief and his sidekick Pete Hegseth, who act like a group of 8-year-olds playing with toy soldiers.”
“We’ve lost 13 American soldiers in a war that the American people, and most of the world, don’t even understand why we went to in the first place. And the President of the United States owes us an answer.”
He made it clear he’s not mourning the Ayatollahs, but stressed the duty to U.S. troops and the public: “If you’re the Commander in Chief, you have a responsibility to the people you send into danger… to explain why you’re doing what you’re doing, and how you get out once the mission is done.”
This happens as Trump’s war moves into its third week.
13 U.S. troops are dead. Over 1,300 Iranians have been killed (including 175 schoolgirls in a U.S. missile strike). Gas prices are near $4, stocks are falling, the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, terror warnings on homeland security are being ignored, and Iranian attacks on shipping are increasing.
Trump calls it a “little excursion,” but signs suggest more troops are on the way.
His energy chief admits it’s all about getting Iran’s oil.
Shapiro’s anger shows the big problems: no clear goals, no plan to leave, just reckless ego that’s costing American lives.
The American people deserve answers—not more excuses, confusion, and double talk.
If Josh Shapiro’s call-out of Trump as an irresponsible “toy soldier” player makes sense to you, like and share to demand accountability: Explain the war or end it now!
