Today, Democrats came to a meeting just to go through the motions, hoping to be recognized so they could introduce a resolution to stop Trump’s illegal war with Iran.
But Republican Rep. Chris Smith just banged the gavel and told them to come back next week, so he could go on vacation and House Republicans could avoid having to do their job of deciding when, where, and why the U.S. goes to war.
Democrats were frustrated and angry, shouting “SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!”
Mike Johnson and his Republican allies have made it clear that there’s nothing Donald Trump could do, not even threatening genocide against a country with 90 million people, that would make them act to stop him.
They’re okay with Trump turning America into a right-wing dictatorship, as long as their donors keep giving them money.
They don’t care about governing, don’t care about their promises to the Constitution, and don’t care about helping the American people.
We need to vote them all out as soon as possible.
Let’s sweep these corrupt war supporters out of our legislative bodies with a big blue wave that brings a new future of democracy and understanding, not Trump’s style of authoritarianism and ignorance.
