The late-night TV host and well-known Trump critic didn’t waste any time mocking the president for the bad performance that happened in the Oval Office today. Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado tried to get back into Trump’s favor by giving him her Nobel Peace Prize.
Kimmel said, “Trump really likes awards.
It seems like the only way to get him to act is to give him one. And with that in mind, Mr. President, I have an offer I think you might find hard to say no to. If you, and only if you, agree to take ICE out of Minneapolis and send them back to the borders where they belong, I’m ready to give you one of the trophies I’ve won over the years.”
He listed several awards: “The Daytime Emmy I won for Best Game Show Host in 1999, that could be yours.
Or maybe you’d prefer my Clio Award for selling stuff people don’t really need, or my Webby Award, which is the top honor the internet can give. Or my Writers Guild Award. That’s a good one.”
He continued, “You see, it looks really nice.
Or best of all, I’m willing to give you my 2015 Soul Train Award for White Person of the Year. Just do this.”
“The decision is up to you.
I’ll personally bring any or all of these to the Oval Office in exchange for leaving the people of Minneapolis alone.”
That’s a really tempting offer, Mr. President.
Please accept it and let the people of Minnesota be safe while you focus on your big, bad ego and the praise you don’t really deserve.
