“WOW!
WHITE HOUSE SAYS TRUMP DOESN’T WRITE HIS OWN TWEETS??? AUTOPEN!” Newsom’s Press Office wrote on X, along with an image of a framed portrait of a robotic pen writing a Truth Social post on Trump’s account.
The image was a reference to the “Biden portrait” of an “autopen” that Trump displayed in his White House “Presidential Walk of Fame” to mock his predecessor, implying that Biden didn’t sign his own executive orders.
In another post, Newsom responded to Kristi Noem making some racist comments about immigration in California—
“You and Karoline are working overtime today to distract from Trump’s disgusting monkey video,” he wrote.
“California cooperates with ICE when it comes to REMOVING CRIMINALS — like sick rapists and murderers — in our state prisons.”
Newsom’s posts were in reaction to the Trump White House’s claim that a “staffer erroneously” posted a Truth Social message showing the faces of Barack and Michelle Obama superimposed on apes in a jungle.
The post has since been taken down.
“One White House advisor insisted, ‘The president was not aware of that video, and was very let down by the staffer who put it out.'”
The White House blamed an unnamed, likely made-up, staffer after Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the backlash “fake outrage.”
The simplest explanation is probably the right one.
Trump, who has always been racist, posted a racist video of his political opponents to distract from his growing Epstein scandal. The strong, bipartisan anger he faced was more than he expected, so his team rushed to fix the damage. Don’t believe a word these liars say.
