Trump is forced to give Iran a $14 billion handout in a humiliating defeat as he tries desperately to stop the rising oil prices caused by his illegal war. Yes, that’s correct. To get more oil moving and slow the fast-growing cost of crude oil, the Trump administration has announced it will offer sanctions relief for Iranian oil that has already been produced and is being shipped at sea. This relief is expected to be worth a staggering $14 billion.
Put simply, Trump is paying Iran to fight the war he started.
This is a major strategic loss for Trump and a personal embarrassment.
For the past 10 years, he has constantly lied about how President Obama gave $1.4 billion to Iran, when in fact it was Iranian money that the United States had taken and was ordered to return by the courts. Now, Trump is giving them ten times that amount, which is likely to be used to build more missiles aimed at US planes, ships, and bases. It will only temporarily ease the pressure from high oil prices, as the war has now turned into both sides attacking each other’s oil infrastructure after Israeli forces began bombing Iran’s oil fields.
Mr. President, that’s a clever move.
In this war, the Iranians are playing chess while Trump is trying to eat the crayons from a Happy Meal.
