One of the guards who was supposed to watch over Jeffrey Epstein while he was in a jail cell in Manhattan searched for information about him just before he was found dead. This was revealed through new documents from the Department of Justice.
These documents also included details about Tova Noel, one of two workers at the Metropolitan Correctional Center who were charged with watching over Epstein before he faced charges of sex trafficking.
The New York Post reported that an FBI record showed Noel had searched for “latest on Epstein in jail” at 5:42 and again at 5:52 a.m. on the morning Epstein was found dead by hanging at 6:30 a.m.
Noel denied searching for Epstein in her statement to the DOJ in 2021.
Journalist Michael Tracey said the searches weren’t really unusual. He pointed out that before the search for Epstein, Noel looked up information about another inmate, “KENYATTA TAISTE,” and after that, she checked on another inmate, “omar amanat.” She also looked up “law enforcement discounts.” He said he was sorry to spoil the tabloid excitement.
Look at the totality of the guard's Google searches in this timeframe.

Right before the supposedly suspicious search for the latest info on Epstein, the guard was searching for info on another federal inmate held at the same Manhattan jail facility — "KENYATTA TAISTE" — and… https://t.co/RaCzZsQHB5 pic.twitter.com/QrxG8h5bj1
Earlier in her shift, Noel bought furniture online and didn’t check on Epstein as required, while her colleague, Michael Thomas, looked at motorcycles.
Both were fired after being accused of lying about checking on Epstein. The criminal charges against them were later dropped.

The documents also showed that Tova made a mysterious $5,000 cash deposit 10 days before Epstein’s death.
It was later confirmed that Epstein had committed suicide. Also, a reporter from the Miami Herald, who first exposed Epstein’s crimes in 2008, tweeted that there were several monthly cash transfers to Noel’s bank account during that time. According to The Post, Noel’s bank records from late 2018 showed seven cash deposits totaling $11,880.
An FBI internal memo suggested that Noel was likely the blurry figure seen in a surveillance video near Epstein’s cell at 10:40 p.m.
The memo said a correctional officer, believed to be Tova Noel, brought linen or clothing up to the L-Tier, which was the last time any officer approached the entrance to the SHU tier. Epstein was found with strips of orange cloth, according to The Post.
Among the documents released on Thursday night were disturbing allegations that President Donald Trump hit a young girl after she “bit the sh*t out of” his penis in an incident arranged by Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing relating to Epstein.
