Host Anna Cabrera opened a segment by highlighting what she called a major development: new reporting from MSNBC about President Trump’s newly named Border Czar, Tom Homan, and a shady $50,000 cash payment.
According to the outlet’s investigation, FBI agents caught Homan on tape in Texas pocketing $50,000 from people he believed were private executives, after hinting that he could help them land government contracts if Trump returned to power. The scheme was so brazen it bordered on self-parody. Once again, Trump’s circle is filled with political operators who mistake corruption for competence.
Sources indicated that prosecutors initially explored up to four separate criminal charges against Homan, but opted to hold off until after the 2024 election. Once Trump was inaugurated, the effort fizzled, and the case effectively disappeared — a clear sign that loyalty to MAGA counts more than honesty or accountability.
During the interview, Cabrera pressed Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury on whether the matter had been resolved. Stansbury was blunt: “Absolutely not. This was bribery. Homan literally accepted fifty grand in cash, stuffed in a bag from a fast-casual chain, in exchange for political favors. He may not sign the contracts himself, but he was actively promoting border security companies that stood to benefit.”
She went on to connect the dots, pointing out that the recently passed spending bill funneled billions toward private detention and border enforcement outfits. “Even if Homan wasn’t the final decision-maker, the Trump team has turned government into a pay-to-play racket,” she said.
Cabrera interjected to clarify that no charges were filed and that the matter had only been investigated. But Stansbury insisted the Department of Justice had buried the case, calling it part of a familiar pattern: “This administration engages in criminal activity, sets up a corrupt internal process, and then covers it up. We’ve seen it with the Epstein files, we’re seeing it with Homan, and it never ends.”
The conclusion is inescapable: Trump vowed to lead the “most transparent” government ever. Instead, Americans are stuck with a White House that operates like a mob family — piling scandal on top of scandal, and covering their tracks each step of the way.
