This one has MAGA supporters really upset.
“President Trump is acting like an international bully.
He threatened to ignore the independence of an ally. He even talked about ending NATO entirely, and now he’s threatening to hit our country and seven European allies with unfair and harmful tariffs unless he gets control of Greenland,” said Sir Edward Jonathan Davey, the Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
“This is a really bad time for the United Kingdom, Europe, and the world as a whole,” he continued.
“Without any reason or excuse, the President of the United States is attacking our economy, our jobs, and our safety. Trump has put British businesses and jobs in danger because of his sudden and unprovoked actions.”
“The only people happy about this are Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping,” said Davey.
“Just a few months ago, Trump praised the special relationship at Windsor Castle.
Now, because of his actions, it’s almost broken,” he said. “So how do we stop Trump’s harmful trade war? For a year, Madam Deputy Speaker, the Prime Minister has tried to please Trump, praise him, and avoid standing up to him, because he thought Trump would hit us with bad tariffs if we didn’t.”
“Well, the Prime Minister’s approach has led to destruction.
It hasn’t worked,” he said honestly. “It’s time for the government to change. We need to finally understand who Trump really is and act like we would with any other bully. He thinks he can take what he wants, even using force if needed.”
“And he’s corrupt.
The most corrupt President the United States has ever had,” said Davey. “So there are only two options for getting him to back down. Giving him a new jet or a few billionaires’ crypto money, or standing up to him like we would with any other bully. Standing with our European allies to make him back down. That’s the choice.”
“Which one, Foreign Secretary?
” Davey concluded.
Sir Davey is completely right.
The United Kingdom needs to stop trying to please Trump. Trump’s crazy plan to take over Greenland as a U.S. territory is as crazy as it is illegal. He has no respect for rules or morality, and he even admitted that his obsession with Greenland comes from his anger over being denied the Nobel Peace Prize. Having given up on peace, he’s now threatening war with our closest allies. It’s time those allies started standing up to him. The majority of Americans are with you!
