Judge Eric Tostrud gave his quick decision after Minnesota officials sued Homeland Security and other agencies run by Trump. They wanted a temporary order to stop federal workers from possibly destroying evidence.
The order covers any evidence that the defendants or people working for them took away from the scene or are now keeping in their control.
The lawsuit says evidence was removed from the place where Pretti was killed.
It says that without legal help, the plaintiffs will face serious problems in their ability to investigate and enforce state laws, and protect Minnesotans.
“Hennepin County’s office has the power to look into possible crimes by the federal agents involved, and we will do that,” said Mary Moriarty, the county attorney.
Her office is one of the groups that filed the lawsuit.
Because of the serious lawlessness at this White House, this ruling was really needed.
Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem have already started to unfairly call Pretti a “terrorist” and falsely say he was planning to kill police.
These MAGA leaders lie without thinking and will do anything to protect their enforcers as they continue their violent actions.
They would not think twice about changing or destroying evidence if they thought it would help them politically. They aren’t loyal to the law, truth, or right values. They only care about their own power — which is why they need to be removed from office, taken to court, and held responsible for their actions.
