There’s no way Trump was going to show any compassion for an American citizen who was killed by his supporters, but his post on Truth Social about the murder is really shocking and evil. He said, “I just watched the video of what happened in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It’s terrible to watch. The woman screaming was clearly a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was acting very badly, blocking and resisting, and then she violently and intentionally ran over the ICE officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”
He goes on to say, “Based on the video, it’s hard to believe he’s alive, but he’s now in the hospital recovering.
The whole situation is being looked into, but these incidents are happening because the Radical Left is threatening, attacking, and targeting our law enforcement and ICE officers every day. They’re just trying to keep America safe. We need to support and protect our law enforcement from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!”

The officer is clearly not hurt, and the woman in the car is just trying to leave. The term “Orwellian” has been overused by right-wing people who think every law about seatbelts is like 1984, but we’re really in a place where we’re supposed to ignore what we see and hear, all in the name of Trump’s campaign to make the killing of Americans seem normal.
