It’s a battle between an American war hero and a drunk MAGA supporter who’s not qualified for the job.
“I don’t know Pete Hegseth very well,” Kelly said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
“I sit on the committee that confirmed him, so I know a little about his background. He’s totally unqualified,” he said.
“Nothing against journalists, they play an important role in our society, but he isn’t qualified for this job,” Kelly continued.
“And from what I can tell, talking to some of my Republican colleagues, he just wants to please the president.”
In reality, Kelly was being too kind to Hegseth.
Hegseth wasn’t a real journalist—he was a talking head who spread lies and right-wing propaganda for Rupert Murdoch’s corrupt agenda.
Hegseth attacked Kelly and five other Democratic lawmakers for sharing a video that encouraged military members to refuse illegal orders.
He called them the “Seditious Six.” But there’s nothing seditious about telling soldiers to protect the Constitution. That’s what they’re supposed to do. Hegseth is just Trump’s attack dog, following the president’s meltdown over the video and demanding the lawmakers be executed.
“Everything he’s doing is straight out of the authoritarian playbook,” Kelly said.
“They try to silence people. Every one of us has the right to speak freely under the First Amendment, and the president is violating those rights. He’s sending a clear message: don’t cross him. Your loyalty should be to the Constitution, not to him.”
The Pentagon has accused Kelly of “serious misconduct” and said they will conduct a “thorough review.”
Hegseth personally insulted Kelly, saying he couldn’t even wear his uniform correctly.
“He can go after me under the Uniform Code of Military Justice,” Kelly said.
“That’s the law in the military. It’s wild because we all recited that code, and now he wants to use it against me. It’s so ridiculous, it’s almost like you can’t make this stuff up.”
Despite everything, Kelly is not backing down.
He’s determined to fight this every step of the way.
If it weren’t so infuriating, it would be funny how this feud perfectly represents the true values of the MAGA movement.
On one side is a former decorated naval pilot and astronaut standing up for the Constitution. On the other side is a drunk, immoral, no-courage guy trying to please a fascist president.
Republicans keep saying they care about the troops, but time and again, they let them down for Trump.
