This has MAGA world in an absolute panic…
“A few other GOP members messaged us over the weekend saying they’re also thinking about quitting halfway through their term,” Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News wrote on X.
“One senior House Republican was really upset: ‘The whole White House team has treated every member like trash.
All of them. And Mike Johnson let it happen because he wanted it to happen. This is the feeling of nearly everyone — appropriators, authorizers, hawks, doves, and even regular members. The arrogance of this White House team is turning members off. They are being pushed around and threatened. They don’t even let members have small wins like announcing small grants or even getting responses from agencies. Even the high-profile and regular rank-and-file members are more upset than ever. Members know they’ll be in the minority after the midterms.'”
“More big resignations are coming.
It’s like a bomb about to explode. Morale is at an all-time low. Mike Johnson will probably lose his leadership role, and they’ll lose the majority before this term ends.”
Sherman wrote a follow-up post a few hours later—
“Since this post ran this morning — 4 hours ago?
— I’ve gotten tons of text messages from House Republicans agreeing with this. They’re saying, ‘Why should we stay in Congress if all we do is vote on censures and just sit there.’”
Marjorie Taylor Greene shocked everyone last Friday after a long and messy argument with Donald Trump.
She explained she quit to stand up for victims of Jeffrey Epstein, saying she was unfairly called a traitor and threatened by the U.S. President for doing so. For once, we agree with her.
Greene also pointed out that Republicans are likely to lose the midterms.
She’ll officially leave Congress in 42 days, and her departure seems to have started a bigger wave of resignations among Republicans.
And why would anyone want to stay?
When the full truth about Trump’s bad relationship with Epstein comes out, every Republican who backed him could get permanently criticized. Plus, consumer prices are going up a lot because of his tariffs, healthcare costs are skyrocketing, and Trump has no plan to fix any of it. His administration is a huge failure with nothing positive to show.
On top of that, government funding runs out at the end of January, which could lead to another unpopular government shutdown.
There’s no reason to stay and watch the American people grow more and more angry with them.
If more Republicans follow Greene’s example, Johnson’s thin majority could finally fall apart.
A special election next month might help if Republicans win, but Democrats are expected to win in December. If the numbers go badly for Johnson, he might end up with a 218 to 216 majority. Then, any more resignations could end his leadership.
Please share and ❤️ if you think more Republicans should resign!
