Her mom was one of Trump’s biggest opponents in Congress, and now her daughter is stepping into the political race.
“What should we do when our freedom is being threatened?
We should speak out. We should stand up. And we should come together. Power belongs to the people, and that’s what I want to do for you,” Pelosi said in her new campaign video.
She calls herself an attorney, writer, activist, wife, mom, chairperson of the California Democratic Party’s Women’s Caucus, and now a “candidate for California state senate.”
“I’m running to represent San Francisco in Sacramento, fighting for consumer rights, women’s rights, gun violence survivors, immigrants, and our most vulnerable communities against the challenges we face.”
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi recently announced she will leave Congress, and Republicans felt a bit relieved, knowing one of their strongest opponents is leaving the political scene.
Now they’ll have to deal with her daughter — a woman who has learned from her mom how to fight for the American people.
There had been talk that Christine might run for her mom’s House seat, but she decided to run for the state senate instead, to gain real experience and help her community.
“I like the idea of making my own path,” Christine Pelosi said.
“I don’t think there’s a better representative or speaker in Washington, D.C., for San Francisco than Nancy Pelosi. And I hope everyone has success as they try to follow in those stilettos.”
The future looks bright for her now!
