Romney said to Deseret News, “I basically think people who are 80 and older shouldn’t be in charge of running the country.”
He mentioned the book “The Body” by Bill Bryson, which explains that the human brain shrinks by about 20% by the time someone reaches 80.
Romney joked, “I’d really like to do it again, and maybe this time I’ll get it right.
Third time’s the charm.”
Older Americans can still be helpful and important members of society, and they deserve good healthcare and respect.
But they shouldn’t have control over nuclear weapons.
Looking at Donald Trump shows the dangers of having old leaders in power.
He’s clearly having serious memory and thinking problems. He gets confused, speaks incorrectly often, and is becoming more unpredictable every day.Someone who can’t control their mind—or even their body—shouldn’t have the power to start wars or drop bombs.
Take Mitch McConnell, who is 84.
His supporters don’t even know if he’s alive, in a coma, brain dead, or actually dead.He should have retired long ago, but some older politicians can’t let go of power, even when they’re no longer able to do their job properly.
