“If someone at the UN on purpose stopped the escalator as the President and First Lady were getting on, they should be fired right away and investigated,” Leavitt tweeted.
This reaction came after an incident where the escalator stopped while Trump and Melania were walking up to his speech at the U.N. General Assembly.
They had to walk the rest of the way up.
“Besides firing them, they should be taken to court and face the full legal consequences.
It’s a miracle the President even made it up the stairs,” Walz replied to Leavitt, clearly pointing out Trump’s poor physical health.
The escalator incident took up a lot of media attention the day before, mainly because Trump kept complaining about it during his speech.
“All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that stopped right in the middle on the way up.
If the First Lady wasn’t in good shape, she would have fallen,” Trump said.
“These are the two things I got from the United Nations: a broken escalator and a bad teleprompter,” Trump added later.
“Thank you very much.”
Later, it was found out that Trump’s own staff were responsible for the problem.
According to The Daily Beast, “someone close to the situation” said it was actually “someone in the president’s own group” who “accidentally hit the emergency stop button.”
Here you have MAGA in a nutshell.
Create a problem, then blame someone else.”
