“Do the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have video and audio recordings of White House ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan accepting $50,000 in cash bribes from undercover FBI agents stuffed in a brown paper takeout bag from the restaurant chain Cava? It certainly sounds like you do,” wrote Congressman Jamie Raskin in a letter to the Justice Department signed by the other Democratic members of the House Judiciary committee.
“This startling episode is powerful evidence that Mr. Homan may have committed multiple federal felonies, including conspiracy to commit bribery. Your reported effort to shut down this investigation appears to be a brazen cover-up to protect Donald Trump’s allies, at a time when the DOJ and FBI are also being ordered to aggressively pursue prosecution of Donald Trump’s political enemies,” he wrote.
According to MSNBC, the FBI recorded Homan in Texas accepting $50,000 in cash after he indicated that he could help the agents (who he believed to be business executives) win lucrative government contracts during the second Trump administration.
Prosecutors were reportedly considering bringing four different charges against Homan, but wanted to wait until he assumed office following a Trump victory. However, the case stalled out once Trump was sworn. The reason for that is easy to puzzle out. Corruption is fine and even encouraged in MAGA world so long as one remains loyal to the cult leader. Fascists believe that the law only applies to other people.
Aware that this entire situation reeks of a cover up, Raskin has also demanded “documentation of any legal analysis used to justify closing the investigation.”

He accused the Trump administration of giving Homan “and others like him carte blanche to take bribes for lucrative contracts paid for with taxpayer money.”
The Homan files must be released immediately. This is the least trustworthy Justice Department in American history. We know they’re covering up the truth about Jeffrey Epstein. Now, we know they’re covering up the truth about Tom Homan. What else are they covering up?
