“Dylann Roof, who followed white supremacist propaganda, killed 9 black parishioners in Charleston in 2015. Do you deny this?” the California congresswoman asked.
Kash Patel suggested he had no idea about the name of the white supremacist who performed the Charleston church shooting.
The FBI director confirmed that he did remember that fatal mass shooting.
” I’m not stating the other thing didn’t occur, I’m simply requesting a little information,” Patel added, referencing the Charleston shooting.
The FBI director did not straight out deny it, however his response suggested he did not know who Roofing was.
The FBI director appeared on Capitol Hill for a second day of barbecuing on Wednesday, where he was asked about a wide variety of subjects, including the mass murderer Dylann Roofing.
Trump stated radicals on the right were frequently radical “due to the fact that they don’t wish to see criminal offense,” however the radicals left wing, “are the problem.”
Individually in the hearing, Patel did acknowledge that it was a problem for both sides.
” I do not promote the president. The president promotes himself,” the FBI director responded.
” Do you concur with the president?” she followed up.
But his absence of knowledge about the massacre of black churchgoers during Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina just ten years ago did not sit well with the Democratic legislator.
Kamlager-Dove later on posted a clip of her questioning about Roof.
Kamlager-Dove went on to bring up white nationalist Robert Bowers, who assassinated 11 Jewish congregants at a Pittsburgh, PA synagogue in 2018.
The line of questioning came as some pro-MAGA officials have declared that violent extremism is a problem of the far-left instead of both sides in the wake of the tragic shooting death of reactionary activist Charlie Kirk.
“It’s extremely disgraceful and concerning that Kash Patel doesn’t learn about among the most heinous hate criminal activities versus Black Americans in the last decade,” she composed.
” I’m sorry, Dylann Roofing?” he asked. “Can you offer me some more details?”
Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove was questioning Patel on violent extremism.
The congresswoman raised the shooting and President Donald Trump’s reaction on Fox & Pals, saying that it was the left that had a problem. She asked if Patel concurred with the president.
” You’re head of the FBI, you probably understand this. If you do not understand, that’s fine,” she replied.
You can offer me a suggestion. I have a lot in front of me,” Patel responded.
Patel declared that Trump had stated there was ideology on both sides driving violence, which was not what the president had actually stated.
