“And on what basis did you make this dangerous decision?” he asked in his X post. “Did you think about the damage before starting this? And did you consider that the first to get hurt will be the countries in this region itself?”
Middle East Eye says Al Habtoor is “one of the UAE’s top businessmen.
” Clearly, he’s very worried about this war spreading and causing chaos in the whole region.
“The people in this region also have the right to ask: Was this your decision alone?
Or did it happen because of pressure from #Netanyahu and his government?” he asked.
The answer is that this war only helps Israel.
They’ve been wanting to fight Iran for a long time. Marco Rubio admitted that the Trump administration attacked because they thought Israel was about to attack and were afraid of getting hit back.
“You put the countries of the #GulfCooperationCouncil and the Arab countries in the middle of a danger they didn’t choose,” Al Habtoor continued.
“Thank God, we are strong and can defend ourselves. We have armies and defenses to protect our homes, but the question remains: Who gave you the green light to turn our region into a battlefield?
“Before the ink had dried on the #BoardOfPeace initiative you announced in the name of peace and stability, we are already facing a military escalation that threatens the entire region.
So where did those promises go? And what happened to the commitments made in the name of peace?”
“Most of the money proposed in those initiatives came from the countries of the region themselves, including Arab Gulf countries that contributed billions of dollars to support stability and development.
And these countries have the right to ask today: Where did this money go? Are we funding peace initiatives or funding a war that puts us in danger?” he continued.
“Even worse, your decision doesn’t just threaten the people of the region, but also the American people, whom you promised peace and prosperity.
And here they are today, finding themselves in a war that’s paid for by their own money and taxes. According to the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), the direct military costs of this war range between 40-65 billion dollars, and could reach 210 billion dollars if it lasts four to five weeks, not to mention the sacrifice of American lives in a war in which they have neither camels nor she-camels.”
“You also broke your promises not to get involved in wars and to focus only on America, putting it at the top of your priorities.
During your second term, you ordered foreign military interventions in seven countries: Somalia, Iraq, Yemen, Nigeria, Syria, Iran, and Venezuela, plus naval operations in the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific Ocean. You directed more than 658 foreign airstrikes in your first year in office, which equals the total number of strikes in Biden’s entire term. You criticized the US for getting involved in foreign wars, but that’s exactly what you did.”
“Your Excellency the President, these numbers have greatly affected your approval ratings among Americans, which have dropped by about 9% in just 400 days.”
“These numbers say something clear: Even within #TheUnitedStates, there is growing fear of getting dragged into a new war, and of putting American lives, the economy, and the future at unnecessary risk.”
“True leadership is not measured by making war decisions, but by wisdom, respect for others, and pushing toward peace.
If these initiatives were launched in the name of peace, then we have the right today to demand full transparency and clear accountability,” Al Habtoor concluded, tagging Donald Trump’s X account.
The billionaire is clearly using every argument he can think of to try and convince Trump to back off.
But he’s absolutely right on all his points. Trump has now unilaterally plunged the Middle East into chaos, his approval ratings are plummeting, and the United States gets nothing from this war. This will go down as possibly the worst decision ever made by an American president.
